There are also some excellent books available, and I particularly recommend:

Kundalini Yoga: The Flow of Eternal Power by Shakti Parwha Kaur Khalsa, which gives lots of detail about the kundalini lifestyle and the beliefs underpinning it;

Transitions to a Heart-Centred World by Guru Rattana, which contains lots of wonderful kriyas and meditations; and

The 8 Human Talents by Gurmukh, which describes the chakra system in detail plus lots of fascinating case studies from Gurmukh’s many years of teaching experience.

Local business recommendations:

Reiki healing, soul clearing, hypnotherapy and spiritual development:

Reiki healing is intricately linked with the chakra system, fundamental to the sacred technology of Kundalini Yoga. Steph Burton of Spiritual Energy is based in Sevenoaks and Hastings, and offers practitioner training as well as healing. Visit the website for further details: www.spiritual-energy.com

Hand painted silk and cotton lavender eye pillows:

Hilary Collins, based in Hayes. Hilary is a local textile designer with a career in print designs for dress fabrics. Her lavender eye pillows have evolved from her connection to yoga/relaxation/meditation. They are made of cotton, with ‘ditzy’ patterning (£10 each); or silk, with a larger central motif, (£15 each). A Velcro fastening facilitates refreshing the lavender and/or washing them. A selection of patterns and colours are available, and no two eye pillows are identical. Contact Hilary on 07919 827855, email Hilary@hilarycollins.co.uk, or visit the website: www.hilarycollins.co.uk.
